Oh wow… I had no idea what to expect going into this. It was chosen as a buddy read for a buddy read with a dear friend of mine and I think we were both absolutely blown away by this story.
There are five absolutely lethal people living in the land and they are all brought together for one objective – to assassinate the God King and replace him with his brother.
The schemes. The betrayal. The mistrust. I was riveted by this story and had to force myself to stop at our predetermined chapters as agreed upon (we ended up finishing a day early because neither of us could hold back on that last 150 pages) You have no idea who to trust right until the very last page. I will admit that I startled my dog from a dead sleep while gasping at one major reveal. It. Was. Crazy. Loved it.
I need the next book right now. The twist at the end .. I have no words for how great that was.
