YES! We are back in the Otherworlds and I am so excited! This time we are with Alice, the small friend of Evie who follows the rules and is engaged to Henry.
This time we are in a retelling of Alice in Wonderland which is one of my favourite childhood stories and Courtney wove a lot of the language and ideas into her own version of the story. “Beware the jabberwocky, my son. The jaws that bite; the claws that snatch”
What I liked about book 2 was we spend the majority of our time in Winterland and it was so fun to be travelling in this new world with Alice and Ches. Courtney is an incredibly vivid writer and takes you along for the journey so well. I really enjoyed being in the 1920’s flapper era for The Never Heir, but crossing through the looking glass was perfection.
I can’t wait for Book 3 to see how Edmund and Alice interact.
