I was so lucky to get an arc of Lara’s last book, All the Lost Pieces, and I adored it! I dm’d her on Instagram and told her as much and we’ve chatted back and forth a few times over the last year or so. She reached out to me one day and said that she loved my name and would it be okay if she use it for the name of a sandwich shop owner in her new book! When I tell you I was absolutely thrilled and honoured – I’ve always felt my name is a bit odd (I mean, how many women do you know named Dusti?? Especially when it’s short for Dustin?)
Regardless of the coolest character name ever, I was so excited to read this book. I love the way that Lara handles her characters. They are real and amazing and people that I would absolutely love to hang out with in real life.
Tess is a sassy greeting card copy writer. She is witty and sarcastic and her mouth gets her into trouble a lot. Enter the new cyber security specialist who is determined to get Tess to take things seriously. and we have pages of incredible banter, heated flirting and exasperated arguments. I LOVED IT.
Lara’s book have just the perfect level of steam. They are closed door which I prefer. I like when a book relies on its plot rather than pages of explicit sex scenes to fill in the pages.
If you are looking for the PERFECT Valentines Day read, go preorder this gem. It’s available in either physical form or ebook. And give Lara a follow on Instagram, she’s an absolutely lovely person.
