Del is a living her life away from the small town that she grew up in. Away from the church that raised her. Away from the people that turned their back on her when … the incident happened.
There was something so great about this book, I think I felt it really relatable, minus there being a death of an ex-boyfriend that just doesn’t seem to be the hunting accident that it was ruled as.
The mystery wasn’t too deep or twisted, there were a few fun surprises along the way. As the book comes to its conclusion, I was cheering for Del to stand up on her own two feet and be powerful in her own right, but it kind of was a let down that once she was allowed back inside the circle, she no longer wanted to stand in her own power. I felt a little preached to at the end but that was probably me just being prickly about anything telling me to go to church. (I can knock stars off for whatever I want, it’s my review)
All in all it’s a fun ride, not too scary, little murder (?) mystery.
