Forbidden love. War. Vampires. Political changes. Did I mention vampires? I absolutely loved this book. Once again Isabel Canas proves that she is a genius when it comes to weaving together folklore and magic. The imagery in this book puts you right there in the dust of the rancho, listening to the silver spurs of the patron and listening to the sounds of the Mexican landscape.
“Our government will be its own downfall for not looking after them the way it should. For not looking after us” It takes and takes but never offers us anything in return, not even protection”
The character development had me cheering, the different types of vampires we all face had me fascinated and the ending was everything I wanted it to be. Pick up your copy of Vampires of El Norte – I’m sure you will also love it.
